THE THEME FOR THIS YEAR’S CAMP IS : “Turning into Peace”

Campers will consider how the ability to transform our minds, bodies and actions/reactions can create positive change within ourselves, our relationships and in the world around us. We will explore and  learn ways to work towards transforming harmful things in ourselves, our families, communities and our world into a constructive, more peaceful future  When things feel difficult or hurtful or don’t go according to plan, we can use courage, resilience,  creativity and non-violence to transform situations into something even better. Campers will find and practice ways to turn what is non-peaceful and harmful into a cultivation of peace and prosperity. Turning into Peace is also about turning away from violence, war and individualism and leaning into peace and peacemaking as a standard for our society and future. All this through art, music, nature, play and mindfulness.

July 6th–10th or July 13th–17th 2026

The mission of Peacemakers Day Camp is to promote peace and teach peacemaking skills to a diverse group of children in a safe, fun environment. We will help guide children to discover their potential as peacemakers.

Our Vision

Through play, discussion, creative arts, music, helping others, and interacting with nature, campers gain confidence in themselves as peacemakers.  Every day, campers learn and practice various skills, such as giving put-ups, building peace bridges, compromising, negotiating, using “I” messages, and sharing respect. Campers will also grow an understanding of how and why peace is important on a global scale.

Who we are

The teachers, staff, and teen counselors – most of whom are volunteers – are committed to work together to lead the campers and to respond to group and individual needs compassionately and collectively.

Founded in 1986, Milwaukee Children’s Peacemakers Day Camp is a nonsectarian program of the Milwaukee Friends Meeting (Quakers)
